Preheat the oven to 135 °C.
Remove the thin membrane on the back of the ribs. This can be tough and difficult to chew if you let it sit.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. Make sure you massage it well into the meat.
Wrap each rack of ribs in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake them in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are cooked.
Meanwhile, make the barbecue sauce by mixing the barbecue sauce with the apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan. Let the mixture simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally.
After baking, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully remove the foil. Watch out for the steam!
Brush the ribs generously with the barbecue sauce.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the ribs on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes. Turn them frequently, brushing with additional glaze every few minutes, until the ribs are caramelized and lightly burnt.
Remove them from the grill, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice them and serve!
Variations & tips

For a spicier flavor, you can add a tablespoon of mustard to your BBQ glaze. Are you a fan of spicy? Then, add more cayenne pepper to the rub or some hot sauce to your frosting. Do you only want to cook the ribs in the oven? Then, skip the grilling step and grill the ribs at a high temperature for 5 minutes for a deliciously caramelized crust. These ribs are also fantastic when prepared in a smoker for an authentic BBQ experience!
